Irish cricket enjoyed a powerful week recently with Ireland beating India in the T20I on the 26th and 28th June at Stormont, Belfast. Ireland secured a 2-0 T20 International series victory over India making history and ensuring Irish cricket fans did not go home disappointed.
The historic triumph not only marked Ireland's first-ever T20 series win over India but also demonstrated the incredible progress of Irish cricket on the international stage.
As one of the main sponsors of Cricket Ireland, Fáilte Solar is proud to support the continued growth of the sport across Ireland. The partnership has been further strengthened by Sigenergy, whose recent involvement as a major Cricket Ireland sponsor represents another exciting step forward. As Fáilte Solar's flagship smart energy storage brand, Sigenergy shares the same ambition for performance, innovation and excellence. Qualities that were on full display throughout Ireland's historic series.
Together, Fáilte Solar and Sigenergy are proud to stand behind Irish cricket as it continues to reach new heights both at home and on the international stage.
Fáilte Solar and Sigenergy pulled out all the stops at the T20I at Stormont Belfast. The Sigenergy van was on proud display with lots of fun activities surrounding it to get the buzz going. Both the Irish and Indian fans were great sports and got stuck in to all the activies throughout the 2 days.

This year's series carried even greater significance with Lorcan Tucker leading Ireland into the historic fixtures as the team's new T20 captain. Under his leadership, Ireland produced two composed and fearless performances to overcome one of world cricket's strongest nations. Tucker praised the character and belief shown throughout the squad after completing the remarkable series victory.

For Irish cricket supporters, these victories were far more than just two wins. They represented years of investment, player development and the growing strength of the domestic game.

The series also showcased the exciting new generation emerging within Irish cricket.

One of the standout performers was Jai Moondra, the Indian-born Irish fast bowler who enjoyed a dream start to his international career. Moondra made an immediate impact during the series and his outstanding performances earned him Player of the Series honours as Ireland completed the famous clean sweep. His story perfectly reflects the diverse and inclusive future of Irish cricket, with talent from many backgrounds helping to drive the national team forward.

Much of the pre-series attention centred on India's 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who travelled to Belfast as part of the touring squad. Widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in world cricket, many supporters had hoped to see the teenager make his international debut at Stormont.
However, despite travelling with the squad, Sooryavanshi did not feature in either match against Ireland. Just days later, he would make history by becoming India's youngest-ever international cricketer during the subsequent T20 series in England.
The celebrations were followed by unexpected news when head coach Heinrich Malan announced he would step down after guiding Ireland to one of the greatest achievements in the team's history. His departure marked the end of a hugely successful spell that included qualification for multiple ICC tournaments and landmark victories over several major cricket nations.

Former Ireland international Gary Wilson has been appointed to succeed Malan, becoming the first Irish-born men's head coach in more than three decades and ushering in an exciting new chapter for the national side.

At Fáilte Solar, we're passionate about powering progress—not only through innovative renewable energy solutions but also by supporting the organisations that unite communities across Ireland.
Cricket Ireland's remarkable victories over India have shown what can be achieved through vision, teamwork and belief. As proud partners alongside Sigenergy, we look forward to supporting Irish cricket as it continues to inspire the next generation of players and fans.
Congratulations to everyone involved in an unforgettable week for Irish cricket. The future has never looked brighter.
